Bail out the Citizens!

I’ve seen this twice today, this stupid circulating email with some variation of “take the 85 billion used to bail out AIG and split it evenly among US citizens! Everybody gets $279,000 and the government gets $25 billion in taxes back! Everybody wins!”
I love how people just blindly go “OH SWEEEEET” and forward it to everybody in their address book without actually, oh I don’t know, doing the math? 85 billion (dollars) divided by 300 million (citizens) is about $280 each, not $280,000. Jesus fucking Christ, you people.

I say we go with the Russell Crowe bailout. Everyone gets a million bucks. Simple as that.
I like when celebrities get involved.
I was fortunate enough for this e-mail to seep into my work environment. We have a “Community” mailing list that is generally for posting interesting news articles and upcoming social events and some asshole in my department thought it would be a great idea to send this piece of shit spam to all of us on the Community list. Greaaaat.
