Yeah, an atheist can’t get elected to office in the US. They’d get burned at the stake. Of course, that Kay Hagen got elected, despite palling around with known atheists. It’s an uphill battle, for sure.

I was going through the list of Congressmen and Senators on Wiki yesterday and there’s only one proclaiming Atheist in the entire bunch. A decent amount claim Judaism, two or three don’t bother to claim anything and one is Muslim. Everyone else is some branch of Christianity.

Even if the Dems have majority control of both, God is still beating out everything by like 97%.
