My New Favorite Distance Measurement
I just learned about the beard-second, which, according to the Wiki entry, is defined as a unit of length (like a light-year) equal to the distance a beard grows in one second.
If my brain could fathom a nanometer, a beard-second is five of those. A good way to get a feel for five nanometers is to stroke your beard then, a second later, stroke it again and compare the two.
